First Perfume by Van Cleef & Arpels, With top notes of aldehydes, mandarin orange, black currant, raspberry, bergamot, and peach, First by Van Cleef & Arpels is a rich and intricate blend. Released in 1976, this scent is aptly named as it was the company’s introduction into the world of fragrances. The floral middle notes include carnation, hyacinth, orchid, tuberose, jasmine, orris root, narcissus, lily-of-the-valley, Turkish rose, and ylang-ylang. Ylang-ylang is said to provide a soothing, delicate scent and can be an aphrodisiac. Oak moss, vanilla, honey, musk, sandalwood, civet, Tonka bean, amber, and vetiver complete the perfume as a marriage of sweet and creamy base notes.
Van Cleef & Arpels began in France in 1906 but later expanded to the United States, settling on New York for its initial boutique. The bottle of First shows the regency the company is known for with its jewelry. The refined, feminine bottle still embodies the classic beauty of the fragrance it holds. All products are original, authentic name brands. We do not sell knockoffs or imitations.
